Board of Directors - Houston SPCA
The Houston SPCA provides the most comprehensive array of animal adoption, shelter, rescue, rehabilitation and other programs and services in the Gulf Coast region. We impact more than 50,000 animals each year, including dogs and cats, horses and farm animals, native wildlife and exotic species. Our mission is to promote commitment to and respect for all animals and free them from suffering, abuse and exploitation. Our menu of programs and services includes: sheltering, adoptions, foster care, spay/neuter of all adopted animals, Shelter Medicine and Animal Welfare partnership with Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, native wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, cruelty investigations, disaster relief, rescue, and recovery efforts resulting from oil spills, hurricanes, and wildfires, 24-hour injured animal rescue ambulance, humane education, camps for children ages 8-15, and PetSafe (provides free boarding for the pets of family violence victims).
We are also the lead agency for animal-related disaster rescue, relief and resources in the region. Our reach is wide, as we are called to step in when hurricanes, fires and storms ravage the region and state.
Almost all programs and services offered by the Houston SPCA are free of charge (except adoptions, relinquishments, and Critter Camp), and we proudly place 100% of our healthy animals into new homes.
The Houston SPCA receives no funding from the government, United Way or other animal welfare organizations.
